The QS 2020 World University Rankings have been revealed.
Whilst the top spot went to American university Massachusetts Institute of Technology, four UK universities made the top 10 and 18 ranked in the top 100.
Each university is evaluated on six factors: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio and international student ratio. These scores provide an overall rating for each university and this determines their ranking.
The University of Oxford was the highest ranking university in the UK and ranked 4th in the world. Despite coming in at a very respectable 7th, the University of Cambridge has slipped down a place every year since 2017, making this year the lowest it's ever ranked.
